When you are awarded child support payments as part of a child custody or divorce you may be sent payment of support by direct deposit into a savings or checking account. By completing a Texas Child Support Disbursement Unit Direct Deposit Authorization Form you give yourself the ability to receive all payments from the State of Texas Child Support Disbursement Unit into your account of choice. This form should be returned by mail to the address provided in the instructions to the form.
Within this form you will be asked to provide your account type (checking or savings, account number and routing number to your financial institution and the name of your financial institution. Your name and family case cause number are also utilized as identifying information for the benefit of the Texas Child Support Disbursement Unit. You can expect it to take up to thirty days to set up direct deposit. It is incumbent upon you to verify receipt of payments as the Texas Child Support Disbursement Unit will not provide you notice each time a payment is made to your selected account.
