Transportation Resources in Katy

When you live in a large metropolitan area like Katy is a part of, you absolutely need to be able to travel and move about as efficiently as possible. You can ask any resident of Katy and he or she is likely to share their favorite route to several important places in town if you ask. Take their word for it! Additionally, here is some more information about how to get around Katy, and Southeast Texas. You may also know getting around State of Texas as a whole, familiarize yourself with transportation options in Katy.

The Katy Freeway earns its name because it directly adjoins Interstate 10 just west of Houston as you enter town. In fact, people know the stretch of I-10 between Katy and Houston as the Katy Freeway. In that way, living in Katy is great because you don’t have to travel a bunch of different roads to get home from work, play or any other activities in Houston. Just jump on the Katy Freeway and head home. Car-pool lanes cater to multiple travelers, and toll options are available for those planning to purchase an EZ-TAG or TX-TAG.

The Grand Parkway has turned suburban living into a convenience rather than an inconvenience. This Parkway forms a nearly completed loop connecting Fort Bend County, Harris County, and Montgomery County, as well as four other counties in our area. Since most of the Parkway has tolls, having a toll tag is important. There’s no more convenient way to travel around the Houston metro area’s outskirts than using the Grand Parkway.

Finally, Katy is just about directly in between the two major airports of southeast Texas. These airports include George Bush Intercontinental Airport and Hobby Airport. “Bush Airport” as it is known to locals is in north Houston and can be reached by using Beltway 8/The Sam Houston Tollway. Hobby Airport is a mainly domestic airport that is on the southeast side of Houston.
