Government Resources in The Woodlands
Moving to a new place means being aware of the local resources in the community that can be of service to you and your family. The Woodlands is technically a township where the township acts as the governmental service provider for residents and businesses. Law enforcement, fire protection, environmental services, parks and recreation, economic development and many more services.
The Woodlands Township is government by a seven-member Board of Directors. Directors are elected by the community at large to serve two-year staggered terms. The Board of Directors serves as the legislative body, sets policy, and approves the budget. All seven directors serve on a volunteer basis.
The Township of The Woodlands partners with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and the Harris County Constable’s Office, Precinct 4, to provide supplemental law enforcement services. These agencies utilize a community oriented policing philosophy to enforce the laws of the state and county within The Woodlands Township. Additionally, The Woodlands has administrative bodies that oversee residential design requests, recycling, landscaping, neighborhood services and parks/recreation.
