Our History

The Law Office of Bryan Fagan PLLC is a family law firm that provides legal services such as divorce, child custody, child support, adoption, and other related services. The law firm comprises one hundred and seventy employees, including twenty-seven attorneys, twenty-three paralegals, and other support staff. It is one of the larger family law firms in the city where it is based. The law firm prides itself on providing exceptional customer service. Most of the cases that are handled are billed on an hourly basis. Most handled instances come from the county where the law firm is located and the seven other counties surrounding the primary county. However, a handful of cases are taken in different counties on a case-by-case basis.

The Law Office of Bryan Fagan PLLC was founded in 2012 by the founding attorney Bryan Fagan. In 2013, the law firm took on its first paralegal, Mollie Levar, and, in 2015, hired its first associate attorney, Kimberly Washington. 2017, the law firm was forced to relocate because Hurricane Harvey had flooded it. Fortunately, many of the law firm’s operations had been moved to the cloud before Hurricane Harvey, and so even though the law firm had been flooded, no client data or other vital information was lost. As a result, the law firm was up and running at a new location within a week. They operated off cardboard tables, hot spots, and cell phones until new office furniture and supplies could be purchased. The law firm has continued to embrace technology and adapt to other world changes.

In 2020, the Law Office of Bryan Fagan PLLC faced the COVID-19 crisis. This forced the company to reevaluate its operations. Law Office of Bryan Fagan PLLC quickly adopted even more technology to allow its employees to work remotely. As restrictions eased, it kept using the technology it adopted and many new procedures in place. This proved a good decision because the Law Office of Bryan Fagan PLLC faced another disaster in 2021.

In mid-February 2021, a series of severe winter storms hit Texas. This caused a statewide power crisis. Not only was there no power at the office building, but because of the freeze, it was unsafe to travel. However, the law firm could still operate because of many of the remote work technologies adopted in 2020.

In 2024, Hurricane Beryl caused city-wide outages, wreaking havoc across the region. Our corporate office suffered extensive destruction, while others contended with power and internet losses and fallen trees. Communication was nearly impossible, with only a few spots in odd areas allowing us to receive prior texts, messages, and phone calls. Recognizing the urgency of the situation, we quickly mobilized. As always, we pulled together in times of trouble, powering through with our dedicated skeleton crew.

Law Office of Bryan Fagan PLLC ‘s focus is on helping people. The founding attorney says, “We get to meet people at some of the worst times in their lives and help them.” When the Law Office of Bryan Fagan PLLC gives job interviews, potential hires are asked how they handle stress. They are told that when they answer the phone, they may, for one minute, be talking with someone who thinks they are a hero and, a few minutes later, have someone yelling at them because their spouse just turned off the utilities. Potential clients sometimes ask about the Law Office of Bryan Fagan PLLC win and loss ratio. However, unlike other areas of the law, divorce and family law is less clear-cut.

A divorce, by its very nature, generally involves a couple whose resources are no longer pooled and whose costs are now doubled. Where once two incomes covered a mortgage, now there may be a mortgage and an apartment to pay for, as well as two electric and two grocery bills. In families with children, a divorced couple now means additional transportation costs as the children are transported back and forth between homes. Parents must also now furnish two different rooms for the children. The cost of living has easily doubled. What the Law Office of Bryan Fagan PLLC believes in as a goal is to provide excellent customer service to their clients and deliver exceptional legal services. This is done by educating our clients and staff on current family law, client satisfaction, and compassion.
